Channel your inner artist, reawaken your creative and intuitive spirit that expressed through art. Art is a 5th chakra practice of self expression and may help you clarify your feelings and goals. Color, texture, shapes and lines are reflections of the inner self, thoughts, experiences and emotions. When practicing and creating art, you access the flow, may lose track of time, and become occupied rather than preoccupied. Studies show that art reduces feelings of depression and lowers cortisol, a stress hormone, within 45 minutes of creating art. Psychology Today published an article in 2018 that refers to art as taking us beyond the limits of our bodies and help us attune to process over perfection.
Robyn Saunders is an engineer and an artist. She balances her scientific and planning mind with art as a form of self care, self expression, reflection, and manifestation. She will offer ideas about her own process and how to begin and to reawaken your own inner artist. Bring a sketch pad or paper and some colorful art supplies or use ours. This workshop will include centering in breath, gentle meditation, discussion and sharing of ideas, thoughts about colors and their associations, and art making.
